About me

About Me

Originally from Adelaide, I moved to Cairns in 2017 and (once I adjusted to the heat) never looked back. I now live in Trinity Beach with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. I lift heavy things for fun, love reading, enjoy walking, and occasionally finish a craft project.

I started midwifery in 2012 with no clear plan — just the idea of getting a degree in something health-related. I realise now I was being called to it.

Most of my career has been spent providing continuity of care, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. Community birth has always held my heart, and being invited into the birth space remains one of the greatest honours of my life.

My Philosophy

I believe pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are rites of passage with profound physiological wisdom. I respect the innate capability of women’s bodies and the intricate connection between mother and baby.

My clinical care is rooted in the understanding that the experiences of mothers and babies carry lasting generational impact. What happens in this window of time echoes far beyond the moment itself.

I believe my role as a midwife is to share clear unbiased information, provide emotional and physical support, have patience, employ watchful waiting and to respond with wisdom when it is truly needed. Not by default. I commit myself to lifelong learning through reflection, evidence based information, lived experience and the wise women that have come before me.

I believe wholeheartedly in the strength of midwifery continuity of care. Knowing you; not just your charts, but your rhythm, your values, your story. I don’t subscribe to “high risk” and “low risk” labels. Health is a nuanced, multifaceted, individual experience that can’t be divided into two columns.  You are capable of assessing your own risk. You are capable of making your own decisions about your own body.
